  For Ballahack Airsoft Field’s 10 Year Anniversary we are doing something special.  Friday will be an Industry Airsoft Expo open to the public.  Friday evening will be an invite only catered Black Tie Dinner and Contest.  Saturday will be another Ballahack World Conflict (The Battle for Glacio) and will incorporate Battle Suits and UGVs.

BATTLE SUIT REGULATIONS

We want you the get as creative as possible.  As long as you stay within these guidelines, the rest is up to you.

MUST WALK

The Battle Suit Operator must be able to walk on two legs.  You cannot use tracks or wheels.

EYE-PROTECTION

The Operator must wear field legal eye or face protection regardless of what’s on top (I.E. helmet, mask, etc..).

Weapon

The Battle Suit must incorporate an airsoft weapon that shoots under 420 fps with .20 gram bbs or 1.64 joules.

Prohibited

The Battle Suit cannot include sharp or bladed objects, lasers, pyro, or electrical or mechanical “hazards”.

PROTECTION

The Battle Suit must provide a minimum of 50% armor over operator.  All skin should be covered.

LOGO

The Battle Suit must incorporate the Ballahack Airsoft Logo.  Other logos and sponsors are allowed as well.

DEAD RAG

The Battle Suit must have a 3′ x 3′ minimum RED dead rag that is easily deployable.

SAFETY

The Battle Suit Operator must have easy access to water.  The suit should not be designed such that the operator can easily overheat.

BATTLE SUIT SCORING FACTORS

There are 10 factors by which the Battle Suit will be judged.  Each segment is worth 10 points, leaving a total of 100 potential points.

MOBILITY

How easy is it for the Battle Suit to traverse over different terrain?

WEAPON

Weapon functionality and accuracy.

ARMOR

How protected is the Battle Suit Operator?  How durable is the suit?

VISIBILITY

How good is the Operators visibility in the Battle Suit?

PAYLOAD

How many weapons and much much ammunition does the Battle Suit carry?  How easy is it to reload?

DEPLOY ABILITY

How easy is it to deploy the Battle Suit?  How easy is it to remove?

SPECIAL FEATURES

What special features or cool technologies are incorporated into the Battle Suit?

DESIGN

How creative is the design and how good does it look?

PRESENTATION

How professional or entertaining is the presentation of the Battle Suit?

NAME

Every cool thing needs a cool name.  How cool or relevant is the Battle Suit’s name?

UGV REGULATIONS

POWER

The UGV must be electric powered.  It cannot use fuel of any kind.

WEIGHT

The UGV must weight under 100 lbs.

SPEED

The UGV cannot travel over 7 mph.

Weapon

The UGV must incorporate an airsoft weapon that shoots under 400 fps with .20 gram bbs or 1.49 joules.

Prohibited

The UGV cannot have sharp or bladed objects, pyro, home-made airsoft weapons, or lasers.

LOGO

The UGV must incorporate the Ballahack Airsoft Logo.  Other logos and sponsors are allowed as well.

NAME

COMPETITION TIMELINE

 

REGISTRATION

You are allowed to register up to four people for your entry.

CUT OFF DATE

Your team must be registered no later than July 31st.

PROOF OF CONCEPT

To show you are serious your team must provide a proof of concept.  This can be as simple as pictures of drawing/ designs and a list of features and materials to be incorporated.

CUT OFF DATE

Your Proof of Concept must be submitted no later than August 15th.

APPROVAL OF CONCEPT

Ballahack Airsoft will need to approve your concept to ensure it falls within regulations.

APPROVAL DATE

Teams with approved concepts will be notified by August 22nd.  It is safe to start production if you haven’t already.

FINAL PRODUCT

Ballahack will need to see pictures of the final product as well as a 5 minute demonstration video before final acceptance into the contest.

CUT OFF DATE

Your final product pictures and demonstration video must be submitted no later than September 30th.

FINAL CONTESTANTS

Final Contestants will be notified that they are accepted into the event.  Any members of such a team will also attend the full event for free.

ANNOUNCEMENT DATE

Final Contestants will be announced by October 7th.

REGISTER INTO THE CONTEST

Registration works the same for both Tier One (Battle Suit) and Tier Two (UGV) entries.

Simply email admin@ballahackairsoft.com and include the following:

SUBJECT: Tier One Contest Entry or Tier Two Contest Entry

FULL NAME, AGE, EMAIL ADRESS, MAILING ADRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER of each team member up two four people.

  You may also issue a statement of how committed you are and why you are interested in being part of the competition.  

  We will take it from there.  Begin your Proof of Concept.
